Augmented reality (AR) is the technology that supplements the real world with virtual (computer-generated) objects that appear to coexist in the same space as the real world. The goal of AR is to add information and meaning to a real object or place. All objects or places have a history and a context, making that content available to individuals interacting with those places or things provides a richer experience. Augmented reality has improved considerably in past years. Many hardware devices and special techniques have been developed. It is moving from laboratories around the world into various industries and consumer markets. Consumer design is one of AR application areas. The users interactively control their local view, try out design options, and communicate design proposals. The customers who want to decorate their home want to know how things will look in their environment. This project will be able to show them how things will look. The goal of the project is to allow users to visualize photorealistic 3D models of furniture and home design items in the users’ rooms using Augmented Reality.
