Abstract:
We present a real-time rendering and material editing approach with high-dynamic-range (HDR) image-based illumination on smart devices. We use a GPU-Based Importance Sampling technique to implement the real-time shading. This technique consists of using a Monte Carlo quadrature that requires minimal pre-computation and operates within a single GPU shader which gives us an opportunity to fit the technique into a smart device. We show that our approach can be used for real-time rendering and editing of objects on smart devices.
