Öz: With the rapid development of information and communication systems science & technology, the humankind needed to measure the information in the last century. As one of these efforts, Claude E. Shannon proposed a mathematical model to measure the information in a physical sense in the late 1940s. Nowadays, with the unprecedented speed & efficiency shown in the outgrowth of cyber world, the number and variety of cyber threats increases many folds over every year. Therefore, the secrecy and integrity of information have become one of the most critical issue for anybody or any governmental or non-governmental organization. Currently, organizations are in the need of measuring the security in order to determine which software vulnerabilities, configuration issues, programs, and patches are exist & valid in their ICT systems. We will present how MITRE has developed an architecture to make security measurable and manageable by using OVAL (Open Vulnerability Assessment Language) so that the standardization & metric development calls of companies for cyber security would not go unanswered.
